Over the years, I’ve asked a lot of Higher Selves a lot of questions. And one of the strangest things I’ve noticed is that they all sound like they’ve been reading from the same script. Different clients. Different lives. Different problems. And yet the same few messages keep coming through, again and again.
I’ll be upfront: I believe anyone who claims to know all the answers with full conviction is full of shit. I don’t have them, and I’m wary of anyone who says they do. But after six or so years of practicing hypnotherapy, I’ve seen enough to say that the pattern is hard to ignore.
I’ve done sessions with a retiree grieving a fractured family, a fellow hypnotherapist struggling with sleep and boundaries, a woman who felt like she never belonged here, and a mother who’d been quietly afraid of her own intuition for years. Their stories had almost nothing in common. Their Higher Selves sounded strangely alike.
Here’s what keeps coming up.
1. Fear is the main block, and it lives in the body
Nearly every session led back to fear: of being seen, of losing control, of being hurt again, of one’s own power. And it almost always had an address in the body. The gut, the belly, the diaphragm. It showed up as a color, a shape, a knot, a red ball.
The cool part is that it moves the moment it was noticed. Breathe into it, get curious about it, and it starts to shift. It’s rarely as solid as it feels.
2. Trust is the lesson
If I had to pick one word that came through more than any other, it’s trust. Trust yourself. Trust your knowing. Trust the guidance you’re getting. One Higher Self put it bluntly: trust is the biggest issue, and it’s the one thing standing between this person and everything else.
3. You are more worthy than you believe
So many people walk around with a quiet “I’m not enough” or “I don’t belong here.” And when I asked where that came from, the answers were rarely dramatic. It was usually something like: you learned that being seen wasn’t safe, so you hid.
The reply from the other side was always the same, and it was tender: You are loved. You are worthy. You didn’t do anything wrong.
4. Love is the point
Ask Higher Self about purpose, and I’ll never hear a job title. You get simply existing. You get love. Giving it, receiving it, embodying it. One person was told her purpose is simply to be that love and trust herself with the messages that come through. Another was reminded that love isn’t limited to people, and that it doesn’t end when something or someone is gone.
5. Forgiveness and release unlock what’s stuck
Forgive the family. Forgive yourself for the conversation you never got to have. Let go of resentment, guilt and old contracts that no longer serve you.
There was also an honest caution that I appreciated: you can offer forgiveness, but you can’t control whether the other person receives it. Your job is to put down what you’re carrying.
6. Hard relationships are teachers
Difficult people were rarely described as villains. They were mirrors, teachers, souls on their own path, sometimes with a history that goes back further than this lifetime. The guidance was usually a mix of compassion and distance. You can honor someone’s journey without letting it run your life.
7. You are protected
Over and over, the message was: We are with you. Guides, ancestors, loved ones who’ve passed, beings of light. They comfort, they protect, and they asked for the same things in return: more stillness, more presence, more time spent listening.
8. Protect your energy, especially if you’re sensitive
Several people were told they absorb too much and try to fix everyone around them. The advice: stop carrying other people’s feelings, send love instead of absorbing their pain, and remember that you get to choose what you let in.
9. The body is the doorway
Nature. Bare feet on the earth. Dance. Movement. Grounding. These come up constantly, and often with a slightly exasperated tone, like we keep telling you this.
The simplest version
If I boil down hundreds of questions and hours of hypnosis into a single message, it’s this:
You are loved and safe. Let go of fear. Trust yourself. Be present, forgive, protect your energy, and come back to your body.
Is that a message from beyond, or is the subconscious just very good at telling us what we need to hear? Honestly, I’m not sure it matters. People walk out of these sessions lighter, calmer and clearer, and that’s enough for me.
I’d love to hear what resonates. Have you had a session or a moment where you felt a message like this land?
